Girls Varsity Cross Country · Girls Varsity Cross Country finishes 3rd place at Section @ Thief River Falls

  Place Points
Sartell High School 3rd 100

A third place finish left the Sartell girls one place from advancing to the state meet. It is frustrating finishing third but this was the best finish by a Sabre girls team in quite some time. With only one senior on this squad the continued development of the girl’s program is very promising. Continuing to lead the way for the Sabres was sophomore Ingrid Buiceag-Arama who qualified for her fourth consecutive trip to the Class AA State Meet by winning the individual title pulling away from all challengers in the final 800 meters of the race. Also having an excellent final 800 meters was freshmen Hannah Spoden who charged past a half dozen competitors to take 12th place earning her first trip into the state meet. So much has been accomplished by this team which we can be very proud of. Now we look to Ingrid and Hannah to finish this season with strong races at the state meet.
