The Sartell women’s soccer team celebrated senior night Tuesday with a 4-0 win over Sauk Rapids. The Sabres started slow but managed a goal poked in off a corner kick by Reese Kloetzer to post a 1-0 halftime lead. In the second half Sartell emerged as the clearly stronger side, an early goal by Christa Meyer who beat a rushing Storm goalkeeper to the ball through, took a clever touch to her left and then calmly finished in the open net to double the Sabres lead. Madi Kruse added a goal with strike from the left side and Claire Quinn capped the scoring, finishing a ball served across the box near the top of the six. A solid defensive effort led by seniors Lauren Jaenisch, Lauren Schmitz, and Hannah Hackenmueller helped earn Chloe Swanson the shutout in net. Next up the Sabres will travel to Apollo to take on the Eagles in a 7pm fixture.
