The Sartell girls soccer team continued their strong run of play Tuesday night with a 2-0 win over section 8A foe Bemidji. The Sabres started the game with a flurry of chances to break the game open in the first 20 minutes but the Lumberjacks withstood the early pressure. Chloe Turner finally broke through with what proved to be the game winner in the 23 minute from an assist by Christa Meyer. A wonderful defensive effort in the first half kept the Sabres on the attack for much of the first 40 minutes. In the second half the match became increasingly physical and the Lumberjacks were able to create more opportunities. Sartell withstood the onslaught and doubled their lead after Chloe Turner was tackled and drug down in the box by the Lumberjack goalkeeper. Reese Kloetzer calmly slotted home the penalty to put the game away. Sartell will travel to Moorhead on Friday to take on the unbeaten Spuds at 7:00pm.
