The Sabre tankers had to dig deep for fast swims, but came out on top Saturday at the CLC championship. After starting the season with a tie vs. Alexandria and ending the season with a big win at home over Brainerd the table was set for the Big Blue to win another CLC title. Sartell had to place 1st in the meet to gain the title otherwise the tie early in the year would result in Brainerd winning the CLC championship. The meet was very close at times with Sartell falling back as far as third after the 100 fly, but a grinding focused team that would not say quit was able to outlast the field in the end. The end was exciting too as Sartell’s 400 free relay broke a 20 year old CLC record and pool record set by a state championship Alexandria team from that era.
